Williams Sound debuts induction loops with Dante on February 20, 2016 | Marketing Team Two networked-controlled induction loop amplifiers, the PLA DL107 and the PLA DL207 NET, and a new mobile hotspot for live audio streaming within venues, are making an ISE debut. Janet Beckman, vice president of marketing, Williams Sound (pictured), said: “The 207 and 107 are dual amp or single amp [respectively], both ethernet network controlled as well as Dante. They can be remotely accessed as they come with their own apps to make them easy to set up. It’s really plug and play for an induction loop.” Each model offers DSP audio processing as well as audio overide, a pink noise generator and the option of local, app or PC configuration. Hearing HotSpot is a new listening technology that allows any venue to stream audio via Wi-Fi from TVs, music sources or lives programmes directly to an individual’s smartphone or tablet. To listen, an individual connects to the local WiFi, downloads the free Hearing Hotspop app from the Google Play or Apple App Store, and selects the audio channel they want to hear. “Casinos, conferences with multiple languages, healthcare facilities, any place that needs to have signage as well as live streaming audio with it can use Hearing HotSpot,” said Beckman. “You can also use it in an educational setting, where you just want to stream live audio and just use smartphones in the facility.” Also on show is comms system Digi-Wave, currently being used on the InfoComm FlashTracks sessions at ISE. “It’s full duplex, 2.4Ghz two-way digital,” said Beckman. “It could be used for language interpretation or tours. You can add it on to an exisiting comms system, or use it as a portable comms with six simultaneous talkers at any one time.”
