Neutrik, the manufacturer of connectors for audio and video recording studios and concert sound systems and its local distributor NMK recently hosted an OpticalCon Certified Seminar in Doha for the engineering team of Al Rayyan TV. For the first time in the Middle East, the seminar was hosted at the broadcaster’s site, enabling more of the team to go through the certification.

The seminar, conducted by Neutrik product application engineer Frank Studer with the assistance of Neutrik product manager Pavel Aheunin from NMK, focused on fibre optic theory on the first day including applications for transmitting and receiving audio, video and communications. The second day was dedicated to a hands-on workshop that highlighted the Neutrik OpticalCon field assembly kit. Attendees were given the opportunity to improve their skills on terminating LC connectors, applying the OpticalCon connectors and testing the terminations.

"The training has definitely raised the knowledge and awareness of Neutrik OpticalCON cables. Moreover all attendees gained unique experience and the skills required for fibre optic cable termination. The feedback was extremely positive," commented Mr Aheunin. "It was the first of its kind OpticalCON seminar in the Middle East organised at the end user’s premises targeting their staff exclusively. Al Rayyan TV didn’t have the means to send their broadcast engineers for any kind of training abroad due to the lack of spare time and traveling arrangements. NMK came out with a suitable solution. Our company is well known thanks to the individual approach to each and every customer and we are more than happy to arrange the same training for any interested TV channel or integrator in the future."
